Pharmacy Case Studies

First edition
Edited by Soraya Dhillon - Head , The School of Pharmacy, University of Hertfordshire and Rebekah Raymond - Teacher Practitioner

Pharmacy Case Studies offers a holistic and integrated approach to learning, which textbooks often lack. Case studies of increasing complexity tie in the strands of learning from across the pharmacy curriculum. Primarily aimed at pharmacy students and pre-registration pharmacists, this book will also be useful for qualified pharmacists as well as medical students, nurses and others with a professional interest in therapeutics.

Each chapter contains five case studies with questions and answers increasing in complexity from those for first year students through to cases designed for fourth year/pre-registration level. The chapters loosely follow the order of the British National Formulary chapters for eahttp://www.pharmpress.com/shop/ProductImagesse of use. Case study scenarios include both community and hospital pharmacy situations as suited to the disease and pharmaceutical care provision.

Pharmacy Case Studies

Soraya Dhillon, Rebekah Raymond "Pharmacy Case Studies"
Pharmaceutical Press | 2009-02-28 | ISBN: 0853697248 | Pages: 458 | PDF | 1.49 MB

Whilst most pharmacy undergraduate texts are subject specific, "Pharmacy Case Studies" encourages students to take an integral approach to pharmacy via a series of pharmacy cases. Knowledge gained within the individual areas of law and ethics, pharmaceutics, pharmacology and pathology are tested by each example, bringing together all areas taught on the degree course. Each chapter contains five case studies, starting with uncomplicated cases and increasing in complexity as they expand.

Advanced Pharmaceutics: Physicochemical Principles

Advanced Pharmaceutics: Physicochemical Principles
by Cherng-ju Kim

ISBN: 0203492919 | year 2004 | English
512pages | pdf | size: 7,38 Mb

Features:
• Explores the mathematical foundation that underpins the concepts
• Contains numerous graphs and extensive, worked-out explanations of equations
• Discusses the latest advances in the use of polymers in dosage forms
• Includes a detailed review and analysis of dosage form design criteria
Discussing comprehensive range of topics, Advanced Pharmaceutics reviews all aspects of physical pharmacy. The book explains the basic, mechanistic, and quantitative interpretation skills needed to solve physical pharmacy related problems. The author supplies a strong fundamental background and extensively covers thermodynamics, ionic equilibria, solutions and distribution, surface chemistry and colloids, kinetics, diffusion, and polymer science. He outlines the latest research on diffusion through a membrane and the use of polymers in dosage forms.
Packed with formulae and models, the book demonstrates the development of each and then describes the use of those models for a variety of formulation situations. The author's detailed explanation of the evolution of the formulae provides a clear understanding of when and how they are used. This bottom-up approach delineates the evolution of the formulae and gives a clear understanding of when and how they should be used.
Advanced Pharmaceutics provides an in-depth review and analysis of dosage form design criteria that you can rapidly implement in your day-to-day work.
